I took this picture in the back of the car!:) It only took an hour to move me in!:) When my aunt and uncle first left, I had no idea what to do with myself. I danced around my room, and unpacked, and then...I took a nap. They were having a huge move-in day barbecue, so I went to that. But the hot dogs they served gave me heartburn, so I didn't feel well, and I went home and took a nap.
Later that night, John-a good friend of mine, invited me and a group of friends out to meet up. So we went to Chicken Express, right across from the campus. Here is a picture from that lovely event.
Yes, that is the man's foot behind his head. And yes, that is me mean-mugging. Hard. I really couldn't eat that night, so I just nibbled at my chicken and laughed with Everett. It was a good time. Then we all went back to Everett and Lloyd's room (aka the House of Awesome) and laughed for a little while. But I had a job interview (actually two!) the next morning so I had to leave early:( I really didn't sleep well that night.
The next morning I had two job interviews, one at the cafeteria, and one with the chapel. At first I wanted to work at the cafe, but the chapel is more flexible with my class hours. And NO WEEKENDS!:D So that is where I am working now.
My business card, as an attendant! So far I am liking it. Def not as much money as I was making at Burke's, but it's just something I'll have to adjust to. At least I am blessed to have a job!:) I work my first church service on September 18th and I cannot wait! So then I went to my first school event: Casino Night!
That is Propaganda, the rapper that performed that night! He was sooooo cool! I loved him! I met plenty of cool people that night, many I am keeping in touch with! Then there was a Target shopping event, and the next day, school started. So far I am doing...okay. University classes are TOO hard. I will have so many research papers due this semester that I cannot think about it for too long without getting a headache. But I trust that I will make it through them okay. I CAN DO IT!:D
So far the best thing that's happened to me since I've been here is that I went to a Spooky Folk show last Saturday! I FINALLY SAW THEM LIVE! I met Petra, the girl who violins for them. AND SHE WAS TOO COOL. I was a total groupie, but she was nice to me anyway. YAYYYY! Kaleo rocked it, they were awesome. Can't wait to see them live again, hopefully soon!
(This is Dan's Silverleaf, the club where they performed!) Well, Friday begins my 21st birthday weekend! Hopefully I can get into more trouble! (Just kidding!) Until next time...
