Good Man

(Ethan will most likely kill me because of that picture of him on here! Sorry, hon!)

This weekend was pretty slow. Since I was waiting for my income tax refund to come in (which it DID!), we didn't really do much of anything this weekend. We went to go see Star Wars in 3D, which was pretty cool. Except for the part where we both had headaches after we left the theater. Then we went to Sonic. Sunday, I sat around and looked horrible until it was time to clean and go grocery shopping. It was pretty funny. We went to Target and shared a buggy. Ethan got the front side; I got the back. I wound up filling the entire cart. Right now I have so many types of cookies and chips in my room, I could throw a party.:)

P.S. TWO WEEKS until Spring Break!

Boom!

This week has just been...well, there aren't really any words for what this week was.

Awkward:
-Mondays. They're just ALWAYS awkward.
-All of a sudden, my right ear decides to congest this week. I'm still recovering. So I had to go buy drops (which I hate!) and ask Ethan to help me put them in. Some things, a woman just should NEVER have to ask her boyfriend to do...
-Lady problems. The end.
-Got sent home early from work on Monday and left early because of my ear Tuesday. I hate leaving work early...
-I went back to improv for the first time since my anxiety attack, and it felt like I didn't recognize anyone anymore. I feel as though I've lost my funny:(
-I had a small cold this week.
-Being cranky and emotional this week.

Awesome:
-I'm done with yet another week at work! Yay!
-Watching wrestling with Ethan:)
-Been talking with Ethan a lot about the future lately. I love those talks, even the more difficult aspects.
-The IRS finally fixed their "Where's My Refund" website and I know I'll have my refund befotinre March 6th.
-Getting (most) of my homework done on time;)
-Making plans for Spring Break! I. Am. Excited. SO MUCH PLANNING:)
-Going out on a double date with my bestie Savvanah and her boyfriend, Jamal. We had an awesome time, and it was a great way to spend a pretty Saturday afternoon.
 Happy weekend:)

Aston Martin Music

Today has been an okay day. Even though I worked most of the day, I had my homework caught up, so I wasn't too worried. While I was walking home from my second job, I cut on my headphones (in one ear; my right ear is recovering from an infection) and listened to Rick Ross. Now, I know Rick Ross isn't exactly "PG" friendly, but I love listening to him on a warm night, with a light breeze. I feel invincible. As crazy as that sounds, it also makes me nostalgic, especially this line from the song...
"Would've come back for you, I just needed time.."

If I had a dime for every time I've heard that from one of my exes... Makes me think of the spring I was dating a guy from my choir at Kilgore College.  It didn't end well...

Oh, well, on to Hot Guy of The Week. Now, I know this one will cause some controversy because he's an Atheist. But he's just so intelligent. And I heard that he has a thing for Black women. So here he is, HGOTW, Mr. Politically Incorrect himself, Bill Maher:)

Love Spreads

Since Ethan went back to Fort Worth this weekend, I thought I was gonna have a "girl-you-finally-got-some-time-to-yourself-weekend." That went down the pooper...really quick, I might add. I went to the mall Friday afternoon after my last class and bought a new shirt and scarf for the weekend. (The white scarf I'm wearing in the pictures-American Eagle:)) Then I went home and went to my second job at the chapel. By the time I got out of work, I had a bad headache and was just really tired...so Ethan wound up coming over and watching wrestling with me.

The next morning, I woke up with a slight fever. I really didn't leave the house Saturday until I finally got my appetite back and had the energy to get up and walk to Chicken Express. I came in, took some cold meds, and went to sleep. On the bright side, I got a bunch of extra credit work done for my Quantitative Methods class. So much for my nights out.

By Sunday I was feeling normal again, for the most part. So I put on my new outfit and took myself out on a breakfast date to IHOP. Then I went to church. We celebrated baptisms there and I really enjoyed it. I'm slowly getting used to going there. After church, I went to a local play the Feminist alliance was putting on, The Vagina Monologues. I loved it. It was an anti-violence against women message throughout. I had an amazing time.

As soon as the play was over, Ethan came back. Bam!

See you later this week for Hot Guy of The Week.

Cold

(Our picture from the photo booth at the school event we went to Monday.)

This week has been extremely long. And tiring. I didn't go to bed any earlier than 2 am every night this week. (Except Friday night!) But I've had a lot of victories this week...

Awkward:
-Trying to eat pizza at the event Monday night and getting horrible heartburn. Ick.
-Being too tired to sit through the showing of the Muppets with Ethan. (Sorry, hon.)
-My six-hour workdays on Thursdays...
-Not going to bed early any this week. Sleep schedule=horrible.
-Waking up with a slight fever this morning. But I'm feeling better now.
-All this stupid rain in Denton. Eww.

Awesome:
-Since we didn't get to see The Muppets on Monday, we stayed in and watched wrestling together.
-I got a 90 on my first Spanish exam!
-I'm making an A in Spanish! Shocker!
-Getting A's on all my assignments in Marriage & Family class. Yay!
-Getting A's on all my assignments in my Stats lab!
-Making A's in (most) of my classes. Not bad for someone who's missed an entire week of classes.
-Finishing all my Spanish lab exercises on Thursday AND finishing my entire study review packet for Sociology of Religion. Tons of work, but so worth it...

I am really hoping I'm not too sick. Or not sick at all. I'm going to church tomorrow and going to see the Vagina Monologues on campus! Happy weekend.

Love, Ty:)

Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy

All of these pictures are from our Valentine's date Saturday:) Since V-day is on a weekday this year, we decided to celebrate on a Saturday. I was so nervous during the day trying to get ready. I kept wondering if Ethan would like my hair, my dress, my perfume... But he did!:) Ethan was very traditional in what he got me-flowers and some candy:) He took me for dinner at Olive Garden and then we went and saw a very nice show at Dallas Comedy House. Then we went home and he showed me the playlist he made me on Spotify-I felt very loved!:) My present to him was the entire rest of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series, a drawing I had done for him with the very lovely Charlotte Taylor (of Crumbs & Crayons), and all his favorite candy. He loved it! Overall, I feel like our weekend (& first Valentine's together!) was a success.

{happy Valentine's, Ethan. I love you. Here's to hopefully many more.}

With love, Ty:)

Play No Games

This week went WAY better than expected. My transition to being back after my week off has gone pretty smoothly.:) So, in honor of that, I've bought back...Awkward & Awesome Friday!:)

Awkward:

-My sleeping medication had me groggy Monday and Tuesday.
-My emetophobia had me tweaking most of this week. Everywhere I looked (particularly at work), I thought someone was going to get sick. But I think that's because of the HORRIBLE bus ride back to Denton..
-I need to stay off Wikipedia late at night. I was just trying to read about DOOM (the first-person shooter) and somehow wound up on a page about a school shooting. Almost triggered a relapse.
-Feeling stupid about Ethan having to help me with my Quantitative Methods homework. But I was a bit behind in that class.

Awesome:
-I SURVIVED MY FIRST WEEK BACK!:) Without a relapse.
-I hadn't even gotten to my first class on Monday and some guy was running up to me asking me for my number after having talked all of a minute. Nice:)
-I have a three-day weekend from work. We're closing early Monday for a major school event. Yay!
-Ethan got his first pair of suspenders this week. HOT!
-My professors showing me grace this week, even without a doctor's excuse.
-I slept for the majority of the week without any help from sleeping medication. Step in the right direction:)
-Ethan stayed up with me and helped me through this week's Stat homework. Grateful, I am.

Since this weekend is Valentine's weekend, Ethan and I are going out for a big date night Saturday. I have a new dress and he's wearing a suit. Much excited. ;) Pictures from that are coming Monday.

Love, Ty:)

The World At Large

(Since I didn't get a chance to post all these weekend pictures from the weekend of my anxiety attack, I'll post them now! The last one is my favorite picture of us:)

Today was my first day back in class since the attack last week. So far I haven't felt sick, or anxious,  but I'm still taking it easy. I haven't been back to improv yet, and I was a bit slower at work than usual. Everyone has been so supportive since I've been back, especially Ethan. (He met me at the train station when I got back Saturday and took care of me:)) I'm starting to get my appetite back, but I'm not pushing it yet. I have a big date this weekend and want to be well.

I went back to church this last Sunday for the first time since I've moved. (I don't count the church services I worked, at the chapel.) The Village Church here was a pretty good service. I wish I'd taken a picture of the outfit I wore, but I looked decent;) Rest assured.

Weeeellll...it's Monday! Hot Guy of The Week time! To lift your spirits (and mine!) our funnyman picks continue. This week's HGOTW is Jon Stewart, of The Daily Show! LOVE.

Love, Ty:)

No Excuses

For those of you who have me as a friend on Facebook (which is the majority of the people who read this blog), you probably know that I suffered a major panic attack Sunday night/Monday morning and am back in East Texas as I type this. I've been out of school all week. But luckily I've kept up fairly well with my classes and kept in touch with my professors and job. I've been doing much better since then, but my nerves are still a bit frazzled about going back to Denton tomorrow. I think I'll be fine, though. I'm pretty determined.

For all the supportive text messages, calls, wall posts, thoughts and prayers, thank you. Much love.

Love, Ty:)
