Alive

Spring Break is officially over. Boooo! I have 50112346 pictures, but I'm too tired to finish editing and post them:( I'll do it this week, if going back to work and class doesn't kill me first:/ I had the best time with Ethan this past week:) I loved it. Here are a few highlights:

(For those of you wondering-no, I am not engaged! That's a promise ring. Now Ethan and I both have one.):)

Cameras

Saturday I met Ethan's parents. And I didn't get killed.:) The place they had Matt's (Ethan's brother) engagement party was very nice, and the weather was pretty good, too. Here's the rundown of my weekend with the parents: Awkward & Awesome style!

Awkward:
-I didn't do much speaking to anyone for the duration of the actual party. :/
-My dress was short. And I sat on the ground to dip my feet in the pool. Aaaaaand I have big thighs. Ouch.
-I was wearing a corset. By the end of the evening, it got pretty awkward trying to sit down.
-Having to hold my dress down because it randomly got windy.
-Having the urge to jump in the pool.
-Getting probably a bit too comfortable and yelling at Ethan to "STOP PIMP SLAPPING ME!!"

Awesome:
-Ethan's mother called me gorgeous. Eeeeep!
-Had a good conversation with Ethan's (future) sister-in-law. Made her and her family laugh.
-The food was good:) #fatgirlproblems
-I looked nice.
-Ethan's mother makes a good chocolate cake!:D
-I didn't get killed. And that's a better ending.:)
-IT'S SPRING BREAK!

I'm going on a little vacation. So I'll see you this time next week. Later days:)

Love & Happiness

I'm supposed to be asleep. Tomorrow is the BIG day (well, really TODAY) that I meet Ethan's parents. Or the "firing squad" as I have so lovingly coined them. I don't know why I'm worried-I've tweezed and plucked and shaved within an inch of my life and agonized for hours over buying the perfect dress. I think I'll look okay, but I. AM. SO. NERVOUS. Hopefully they like me!:)

This week was a little hectic for me. I've been running around all week getting ready for Spring Break and I've been working and doing schoolwork all week. I had a small panic attack Wednesday night and had a ton of strange dreams this week. Luckily I've been doing a lot better since then. I've gotten some sleep and caught up on all my schoolwork. Yay! (Because I'm not looking at ANYTHING school-related this week!)

Well, I guess I better attempt to get some rest. See you for the report on Sunday evening:) Later days.

Love, Ty:)

Slow Dance

Saturday was 35 Denton weekend here in Little D! 35 is a music fest, something like SXSW. I've wanted to go to 35 since before I moved here, and I was TOO excited. The downside? It managed to rain. ALL. NIGHT. But that wasn't stopping me. I went to see Bun B, Devin The Dude, Best Coast, and made it to Hailey's to kick it with some of the underground hip-hop artists. I had an amazing time. Here's the rundown of my Saturday at 35D: Awkward & Awesome style.

Awkward:
-It was raining. My hair was soaked.
-Converse are not always the best shoes to walk long distances in. Good thing I bought new shoes for all the walking I'll be doing Spring Break.
-My pinky toes were really hating me by the end of the night. Sorry, toes?
-The stagehands kept throwing out beach balls to the crowd. Which might have been nice, had the crowd not been soaked.
-Some people shouldn't be allowed to drink. Just no.
-People should not bring their kids to a Devin The Dude concert. Not exactly kid-friendly.
-Lots of weed smoking during Bun B and Devin The Dude's sets. SMH.
-Being humped, groped, and asked out by a guy who had a plastic flask around his neck and smelled like Vodka. What's the deal?!?

Awesome:
-ALL the bands I saw were awesome!
-I still had fun in the rain.:)
-My extensions cooperated in the rain better than my natural hair would've. Yay!
-Hailey's was fun:):):)
-Because of the rain, it wasn't nearly as crowded as it would've been if it were sunny.
-I bought a cool shirt!
-I had fun being out on my own-might have to do that more often.
-My first music festival was a success.

This last week before Spring Break is gonna try its best to kill me. So much to do. Later days:)

Love, Ty:)

For The Fatherless in Ypsilanti

(I got a little bored on Sunday while I was trying to procrastinate.)

As most of you may know, February was a hard month for me. But that has passed, and now it's March! (Yay!) I love the warmer weather. Spring is my favorite season. New beginnings, and leaving behind all the winter blues. A couple of years ago I went through a harsh depression in February, and was hospitalized (not in a mental institution!) in March. While I was recovering, I met a guy in my choir at Kilgore College and we dated for a little bit. It didn't end well, but it did a lot to help me re-discover my self-esteem. During that time, I listened to a lot of different music. There are still a few songs I like to play every now and then that remind me of my recovery. (and how much I love Springtime!) Here's a few of them.

Boston- "More Than A Feeling": I still play this one whenever I have any type of victory. (Or just when I want to dance around my room like a little girl!)

Celine Dion- "A New Day Has Come": Totally out of the box for me, but still makes me cry.

Sujfan Stevens- "For The Widows in Paradise..": I just love this song. Raw emotion and a banjo.

Dido-"Thank You": The title and the lyrics say it all.

I know this is more of a personal and nostalgic post, but thanks for bearing with me:)

Love, Ty:)

99 Red Balloons

I had a fun weekend:) Ethan and I went bowling, to the mall for a little shopping, and out for ice cream. Then today I went out for pizza with Charlie and to Recycled Books. It was fun. I'm not looking forward to getting into the swing of things this week. Although finding out I got an 88 on my Marriage and Family midterm was an awesome way to start the workweek.

Awkward:
-My ex came into my job this week (at Bruce Cafeteria) with his new girl...and tried to speak to me. Umm, I haven't spoken to you in an entire semester?
-This workweek was long.
-My favorite manager is going in for surgery. Which makes me sad.
-Trying to explain how to wipe tables to a woman who doesn't speak English.
-SPRING BREAK IS TOO FAR AWAY.
-I want a cow;(
-My ex on Facebook uploaded a picture. And he's gotten muscles?! AND a TAN?! What?
-I have to meet Ethan's parents a week from this next Saturday. Ask me if I know what I'm wearing yet.

Awesome:
-SPRING BREAK IS ONLY TWO WEEKS AWAY!
-I want a cow:)
-My stress is still for the most part under control.
-88 on my Marriage & Family midterm! Woo!
-80 on my Spanish comp.:)
-Getting some parts of my major project for Marriage & Family done. Even if it was at three in the morning.
-Getting my hair done! It looks nice and my head has finally stopped hurting.

Love, Ty:)
